Making Sanitation Smart

With over 150 new municipalities added in Telangana, monitoring the construction and maintenance of 10,000 public toilets became a daunting task. The government needed a solution that was simple enough for ground-level staff and powerful enough to manage complex data for Swachh Bharat’s ODF++ goals.

The Challenge

We designed and developed a mobile and web application that included:

• A user-friendly interface for Telugu-speaking ground staff.
• Real-time tracking of toilets categorized as planned, under construction, or functional.
• Weekly behavior reporting to encourage maintenance practices.
